Cav3p1_MA2020_GoC_Frozen#

class braincell.channel.Cav3p1_MA2020_GoC_Frozen(size, g_max=Quantity(0.00025, 'cm / s'), temp=Quantity(295.15, 'K'), q10=3.0, temp_ref=Quantity(310.15, 'K'), name=None)#

Golgi cell Cav3.1 with the GHK drive frozen for autodiff.

A subclass of Cav3p1_MA2020_GoC that overrides current() alone, stopping the gradient through the membrane potential where it enters the constant-field (GHK) flux term. The forward current is bit-for-bit that of the base class; only reverse-mode derivatives differ. Every kinetic equation, the whole parameter block and the Golgi cell model attribution of (Masoli et al., 2020) [3] – with kinetics from (Iftinca et al., 2006) [1] as published in (Anwar, Hong & De Schutter, 2012) [2] – are inherited unchanged.

Cav3p1_MA2020_GoC

The base class; every equation, the GHK helper’s constants and the header corrections are documented there.

Cav3p1_MA2024_PC_Frozen

Purkinje-cell counterpart, built the same way on top of Cav3p1_MA2024_PC.

Notes

“Frozen” describes the gradient path, not the forward numerics and not the channel states. Both gates keep integrating exactly as in the base class – nothing stops evolving. The whole class body is freeze_drive_gradient = True: freeze_drive_gradient routes the membrane potential through freeze_gradient() before it reaches the GHK helper, so the drive’s explicit voltage dependence contributes nothing to reverse-mode gradients while the value it computes is unchanged.

The unfrozen V is still passed to conductance_factor(), but that method ignores its voltage argument entirely and reads only the gate states, so the distinction has no effect on either the value or the gradient. The gate states themselves are not frozen.

Provenance, the tau-embedded temperature handling, the GHK helper’s constants and the g_max-is-a-permeability discrepancy are identical to Cav3p1_MA2020_GoC’s and are not repeated here. Per the bibliography’s attribution scan, this subclass contributes no rate-function code of its own.
